Rudy, Rudy, Rudy!

One of Mom's favorite movies is Rudy. She loves it because it's about a little guy, who against all odds, made it on to the Notre Dame football team just through dedication, hard work and resilience. She loves the stories of the "underdogs." Sometimes she thinks of me as her little Rudy. She says she is awe of how strong I am. Sometimes she even chants "Rudy, Rudy, Rudy" when she's holding me. I find her entertaining right now but check back with me when I'm 13.

Anyway, today was a good day. I didn't have any sleep apnoea spells (I had 2 yesterday) and I am back to my fighting weight of 4lbs 2 ounces. My nurse showed mom how to give me a bath. She was very excited by it and brought out the "good" camera," but I was not impressed. I was happy at first in the warm water and bubbles but I was not expecting the cold air on my skinny body afterwards! Thankfully I got some Kangaroo time afterwards.
("who signed me up for this?")

I haven't moved from my isolette to my phat new crib yet but I hope to tomorrow or Saturday. This means mom and dad can hold me more often and it also means I've done a good job of regulating my temperature. I also got moved to "Team B" in the NICU, which means I'm off the high risk list. The head doctor of Team B says this time is sometimes the hardest time for parents because it is a waiting game. I know mom was hoping to take me outside to watch my Aunt Vicky run the Boston Marathon but I might only get to hear about it. Maybe one day I'll run it with her. A baby can dream....
